Rivage is an association of voluntary help which can draw from of a 15 years experience. Our recipients, the patients and their family, can thus count on a matured action. We want to bring practical and personalized assistance which could not be possible without a durable and permanent dialogue between contributors. So that we can for many years offer our services and our experience within wards, we will therefore need concrete means.
Your company can take part in the humane action of our association.
The law of the 9th of June 1999 (n°99-477) aiming at guaranteeing the right to the access to the palliative care units gives a legal framework to our action. The Article 10 defines the role of volunteers within the medical teams as well as their rights and duties. Here is a detailed sum-up of our principal expenditure. It is unfortunately clear that for the moment we can only cover our operating expenses. We would like to also be able to develop different projects in various fields: improvement of the conditions in hospitals for the patients, promotions of our works, directed toward the general public, extension of our teams to other establishments... .
Before being a volunteer, one must have followed a preliminary training given by our association. This nine-month training represents 30 hours of classes. For the moment, the National Case of Sickness covers up to 75% of the training expenses. Still remains at the charge of Rivage 140€ per future volunteer and per year. Each year, Rivage spends close to 2000€ for the training of their new volunteers. These funds are primarily found thanks to the donations of the trainees themselves. So we can maintain our effectiveness and our coherence, the volunteers follow three units of continuous training per year. To allow our sixty or so volunteers to undertake those trainings, we must invest close to 4000€.
As the medical team in palliative care, each month, the volunteers take part in a support group around a psychologist. These meetings are essential and guarantee to volunteers a follow-up of their interventions. The remuneration of a professional annually represents for the association a cost of around 5600€.
Even though we don't intervene in the medical or paramedical care, it is obvious that the hospital's directors do not let to us intervene without a minimum of guarantees. Each volunteer must take out a third-party insurance for the time spent accompanying. This insurance costs annually 250€.
One of the missions of our association is the promotion of the movement of the palliative care and the voluntary help of accompaniment. We try to take part in the maximum of events. Moreover, we offer our initial training to associations who want to be created. For that purpose we have to send one or more speakers to various areas in France. For the moment, we devote approximately 4500€ for that each year.

By helping you to have a deep and straight discussion with the employees concerned, we hope to enable you to be close to them in such tender moments.
